The club season (late May to early October)
The superclubs run from roughly late May to early October, peaking in July and August. If you want the full nightlife experience, you have to come inside this window. Outside it, most big clubs are closed.
Peak summer (July and August)
Hottest weather, every club open, biggest crowds and the highest prices. Book hotels well ahead. This is the island at maximum volume.
Shoulder season (June and September)
Many regulars' favourite months: the clubs are open, the sea is warm, prices ease off and it's less crowded than peak. September in particular carries the legendary closing parties.
Off-season (November to April)
A completely different, peaceful island: cheap, calm, most big clubs shut but restaurants and nature at their best. Great for hiking, food and a quiet escape, not for clubbing.
